The day before the cleanse

Tomorrow I will be kicking off the first day of spring with a 30 day Spring Cleaning... of myself.

Follow along as I learn how to use this website, post recipes as I go, kick start a business, and oh yea, cleanse.

The Rules:
1. No sugar - this includes white flour, white rice or anything refined as it's basically just sugar. I will allow honey (raw unprocessed honey I bought at the farmers market) or molasses.
2. No fried foods - this will be my Achilles Heel and my personal challenge
3. No boxed or bagged meals - that box of Amy's rice mac and cheese in my pantry? Dinner tonight! Nothing with more than 5 ingredients listed.
4. No dairy - as I only eat goat or sheep based dairy now this shouldn't be to hard to resist.
5. No booze - :*(
6. No caffeine - I'm gonna allow one cup of green tea a day max.
7. No chemicals - this means this years spring clean for the house will be done with all natural ingredients such as white vinegar and lemon. Again I pretty much do this already but there are a few places that I could up the green quotient on.

I picked a sugar cleanse because everyone should do a sugar cleanse. Fried anything is my weakness, I'm not a big boxed meal person however it will be nice to make it the law of the land for 30 days just to see how it goes, and dairy isn't really good for the majority of people so eliminating it altogether is going to be great for my system.

I invite you to come along this journey with me. Maybe just focus on a sugar cleanse, or maybe just eliminate pre made meals. Maybe go 30 days, maybe go 3. Post your goals, let me know how it goes or just read and be entertained!

Here's to my last meal: Goat cheese brie, beans with the last of the white rice, a big salad, and I will wander out tonight to find the last deep fried foods. Maybe I'll take a walking tour of Downtown LA and eat my way through the city!

  1. Challenge (half) accepted! I will aim for 30 days for rules 1, 2, and 3. I love dairy and I'm not giving it up. I've heard all the speeches before and I don't care. I just stopped nursing last month and have a 7 month old. My booze intake is low, but not negotiable. I counted once and it was something like 63 weeks caffeine and alcohol free.

    1. I don't really have a good reason not to do the last one so I'll just admit to being lazy.
