Last night I enjoyed my final fried food hurrah at Bottega Louis enjoying their fried portabella and calamari, then to the Gorbals for their fried gizzards and fried broccoli. I must admit I never eat that much fried anything at once and after all that I'm really happy to have this detox coming! I did not feel pleasant waking up this morning and I've got a dry patch of skin on my face that wasn't there before my rampage.
DAY ONE: so far!
Breakfast: Smoothie
I started today off with a smoothie as I do most mornings that I have to leave the house early. I always use a base of
banana
ground flax seed
green powder (a motley mix of super greens like spirulina and chlorella)
rice, almond, or coconut milk
and then add another fruit or flavor
I decided to keep with the spring theme and add cherries! I put some cinnamon and aloe in as well.
Lunch: Sammich!
I took a two hour drive to San Diego where my new pimp crown was waiting for me and as I was leaving realized the almonds and orange I brought with me were not going to cut it two hours back to LA la land. I went to Sprouts. I love this store, and it's right down the street from my dentist. I had them build me a sandwich with whole grain bread, Boars Head turkey, tomatoes, onion, a giant handful of sprouts and dill pickles. I skipped the dressings completely. Mayo and mustard both sometimes have added sugars and since I couldn't check the labels at the deli I just let it go. Frankly it was a great sandwich with out it and I'm very happy with it.
Dinner: Salads galore.
Now I got called in to work, so I won't be able to use tonight as prep time like I was planning soooo... I'm gonna finish off the quinoa I sprouted Sunday and make a little salad with it from the last of my CSA box before work. I'll have a beet salad and collard greens at the restaurant I work at, both of those things have a little olive oil and salt as a dressing and nothing more.
I have no idea what tomorrow will bring so I'm hoping for a little spare time to work in the kitchen and prepare, however it's looking like a pretty packed day already. Wish me luck!
No comments? Then I will! You can have a sammich on a cleanse? Sign me up! I have turkey sandwich every day for lunch. I've been cleansing for like 10 years and I didn't know it! :)

You sure can! If you're cleanse it to eliminate certain things and do if for 30 days and a sammich doesn't contain those certain things, like white flour, sugar or cheese...
DeleteThis sounds like a pretty delicious cleanse
